Taxis: Killarney is a small neighbourhood. Going from one end to another would only take around 30 minutes. That said, you can still take the taxi here especially if you’re tired or in a rush. Here’s what our order usually looks like: salmon tataki salad, salmon donburi, and salmon sashimi. Yes, you got it – we’re hardcore salmon fans! 

We especially love eating it at Sushi In because it’s guaranteed fresh.

It’s easy to feel overwhelmed whenever you go to the Jolly Good Chinese & Thai Food because they have extensive options of delicious dishes to choose from. 

Everything sounds good from vegetable spring rolls, wonton soup, and chicken in lemon sauce to Thai chicken fried rice, Cantonese chow mein, and homestyle rice noodles!

Pizza 73 is a popular local pizza chain that serves pizza just the way Canadians love it – perfectly cheesy with a whole lot of meat. This is one of the reasons why a lot of Calgarians’ go-to spot. 

While they have several fantastic flavors, we found that they’ve perfected the pepperoni pizza. Try ordering that with their chicken wings.

Despite its name, Spiros Pizza is actually a Greek restaurant, but they do know how to make a great pizza just like the Italians! In fact, it’s what this restaurant is most known for. 

A few of the crowd’s favorites are pepperoni, pepperoni & mushrooms, and spinach & feta cheese. We really like the latter one the most. 

Aside from their pizza, their dips are also worth raging about especially the spinach & artichoke feta! All their dips are served with a delicious baked pita bread.

As soon as you step inside Little Lebanon Pita Pies & Donair, the delightful aromas from several herbs and spices would instantly make your mouth water. 

The highlight of their tasty dishes are donair and shawarma, which is why we highly recommend trying it at least once. That said, we fairly like their manakeesh harra, so be sure to order a piece if you’d like to try their less popular dishes.

Chili Club Thai House is one of the hidden treasures of the Killarney neighbourhood. It’s quite known among residents who live in close proximity to it; however, even locals outside the area haven’t heard about it. 

That said, the cook behind its dishes really knows how to whip up a nice, hearty meal. We’re witnesses to that!

We suggest ordering the spring rolls, chicken red curry, and tom yung gung to see what we mean.

One’s Killarney experience wouldn’t be complete without a trip to Shimizu Kitchen. They’re very well known for their gyoza and tonkatsu. 

They don’t have extensive menu options however, each one is guaranteed to be extremely tasty! Order one of their ramens too while you’re at it!

Even if Killarney is a small neighbourhood, it’s still home to a lot of international food cuisine. Visitors with adventurous taste buds don’t have to go very far to try world class food options while they’re here.

It’s just one of the great things about Killarney!  

Anyway, we mentioned that because here’s another restaurant with foreign cuisine you should try while you’re here – Heritage Bakery & Deli. Because of them, we were instantly converted to being hardcore fans of Polish food. 

You should definitely give their perogies a try.

Bow Bulgogi House is a Korean family-run restaurant that serves authentic Korean dishes that are stealing the hearts of many Calgarians (including us). 

While they don’t have any social media presence, you’ll be surprised that they have a lot of hype online surrounding their name because of satisfied customers. 

By trying their meals for ourselves, we learned that the best ones are the beef and bulgogi. That said, their seafood pancake is also worth the mention.

If you’re looking for a cozy spot for a quick rest, try the Second Cup Cafe. Their shop in Killarney is almost always peaceful, so we also like working here from time to time. 

Aside from the great ambiance, they also have extensive drink options to choose from. 

They have the classic ones like flat white and vanilla bean latte. However, they also have exciting and interesting ones like iced caramel coretto and Italian soda.

Coffee Cats Cafe is a hip coffee house which might as well be the locals’ hideaway. A lot of visitors don’t know about this place, but we’re sharing this special Calgarian secret to you!

Anyway, a lot of people like this for the homey vibe and the friendly service. Of course, the food and drinks are also no exceptions. 

This is where you should go if you want to avoid cafe chains and stick to a coffee shop that feels more personal and homemade. 

Their BLT is delicious, but if you’re only here for the coffee, their latte is exceptional.
