If you’re a fan of cheese like us at The Best Calgary, you’d like Presto Pizza. They have one of the cheesiest cheese pizzas in the city, which a lot of locals recognize them for. Needless to say, it’s definitely one of the top-recommended dishes here.

Additionally, they also do their crust just exactly how we like it – crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside.

Pro tip:

One of their best sellers aside from the cheese pizza is the pepperoni pizza. Make sure to try that out as well when you get the chance. It’s flavourful and not too greasy.

Aside from delectable meals, they also serve coffee, cocktails, wine, and even boozy coffee for those who want the best of both worlds.

Pro tip:

If you’re up for a sweet treat for breakfast, we recommend you get the french toast or the hazelnut crepes. Otherwise, try the Montreal smoked meat hash & eggs that will leave you feeling full and satisfied.

3. Trolley 5 Brewpub

The Trolley 5 Brewpub’s laid-back setting is perfect for big groups looking for delicious meals to pair with alcoholic beverages.

In fact, we’ve observed that there are plenty of people who dine here during special occasions like birthdays, reunions, and even wedding receptions. Their industrial-inspired interior is also complemented by a spacious outdoor sitting, which we actually prefer.

Pro tip:

Surprisingly, Trolley 5 Brewpub’s bar grub also comes with interesting dim sum options. We enjoyed their char siu bao or traditional steamed BBQ pork bun the best. Additionally, we highly recommend their burgers, most especially the more cowbell burger. This Alberta prime rib patty burger comes with bacon, white horseradish cheddar, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles, and fancy sauce.

The diner is also known for serving a lot of breakfast favorites such as breakfast burrito, eggs benedict, and omelets.

Pro tip:

Our favorite things to order here are the galaxy french toast (one of their bestsellers!), Calgary sandwich, and pacific omelet. They’re the perfect pick-me-up, especially at the end of a tiring week.

A few examples of the items they serve here are deep-fried delicacies, special sushi rolls, stone grilled meats, and more.

Pro tip:

To get the most out of your experience, we highly suggest trying their yakitori menu and stone grilled options since those are what they specialize in. The Japanese wagyu stone grill and negima yakitori are what we most recommend.

Sounds good? Wait, there’s more! They also offer the option to make your own burritos and bowls by choosing from different bases, proteins, fillings, toppings, and cheese, garnish and sauces.

Pro tip:

Try our favorite burrito combination: cilantro lime rice, chicken, fajita veggies, black beans, monterey jack cheese, pico de gallo, mango salsa, and hot salsa (only if you like it spicy) wrapped in whole wheat tortilla.

For an authentic Indian Cuisine experience in Beltline, you should give Cinnamon a try. They have a wide range of food choices available, so it’s perfect for anyone with adventurous taste buds.

A few of their most surprising (in the best way) dishes are the palak paneer, butter chicken, and goat biryani.

Pro tip:

Don’t forget to try their desserts too! We find that most customers fail to try this part of their menu, which is a shame. Our favorite is the gajar ka hawla, which is a carrot-based pudding made with condensed milk sugar, pistachio, and cashew nuts. Trust us when we say you’ve never truly enjoyed carrots to their full extent without trying this out!

They offer quite an adventurous menu with interesting variety. From sweet potato falafels, mac & cheese, and Turkish eggs to croquettes, veggie burgers, and Icelandic cod, they have a lot to offer.

They also offer an interesting assortment of alcoholic beverages worth checking out.

Do try their bavette steak & eggs if you want guaranteed satisfaction. It’s made with bavette steak, caramelized onion purée, cipollini onions, chive chimichurri, crispy shallots, and fried eggs.

Wakado Ramen is one of the hottest ramen spots in the city. Extremely well-known among Calgarians, this local eatery serves various kinds of ramen flavors that will excite any foodie.

They have the classic options like shoyu and miso ramen, but they also have more unique ones such as chili goma ramen and mazemen.

Pro tip:

If you’re a fan of spicy noodles, we’re sure you’ll enjoy the goma mazemen. In fact, it’s the spiciest one on their menu, earning a tie with the spicy miso ramen.

We thoroughly enjoyed their wood roasted half duck, ricotta dumplings, and crispy smashed potatoes. That said, the margherita pizza is what truly stood out.

11. Noble Pie

Website: https://www.noblepiepizza.com
Address: Back Alley Entrance, 720 11 Ave SW, Calgary, AB T2R 0E4, Canada
Operating hours: Monday & Tuesday – closed

Noble Pie is a highly rated, widely raved-about pizza joint in the Beltline neighborhood. Us being curious foodies, we of course felt it was our duty to try a slice.

We found the dough to be delightful and perfectly crunchy. For the sweet cheesus flavor pizza, we were thoroughly surprised to find out that the cheese and sauce ratio was on point. Unfortunately, that’s where a lot of pizza places fail.

Anyway, aside from the delectable cheesy flavor, there’s also the roni, marinara, and more. On the whole, it’s not surprising that it has a large fan base among locals.

Pro tip:

Can’t decide which one to get? You can order a half and half pizza, which basically means half of something and half of something else. That way, you get to try two flavors in one order.

12. First Street Market: Food Hall & Bar

Website: https://fsmyyc.com
Address: 1327 1 St SW, Calgary, AB T2R 0W3, Canada
Contact details: +1 587-943-6664
Operating hours:

  • Monday to Wednesday – 7 AM to 9 PM
  • Thursday & Friday – 7 AM to 10 PM
  • Saturday – 8 AM to 10 PM
  • Sunday – 8 AM to 9 PM

Ending this list of best Beltline eateries is something different. You can restaurant-hop with ease at the First Street Market, a food hall & bar filled with various restaurants to choose from.

There’s Friend With Benedicts that offers delicious breakfast sandwiches, La Mano with the fresh pasta, G.oatbar that serves healthy meals. Lots of great options!

Pro tip:

Expect to wait for around 15 minutes to get a seat if you’re coming here during peak hours (lunch and dinner time). If you want to skip the crowds, dine in at around 9 AM to 11 AM or 3 PM to 5 PM
