Your friends at work can offer a lot of great information when choosing a new beauty salon. You can casually ask them about where they get their haircuts or if they have a favorite stylist.
From there, your search can begin. Chances are, they’ll be more than happy to share their stylists with you.
Most salons have their own websites and social media pages. You can check either or both for more information.
Usually, you can see before and after pictures there. You might also get a lot of insight from the client reviews on their social media pages.
3. Visit the salon first before setting an appointment.
This might be an extra step, but we highly recommend this. Visiting them in person helps you see how clean their salon is, how busy they are, and who the stylists are.
Assess the stylists and ask what their specialization is. Some are best with coloring, some with cutting.
Try to get to know them before committing. You can even talk to their receptionist and ask more questions before you set your own appointment.
4. Check the prices.
First, know what you want done specifically. Do you just want a trim or do you want highlights as well?
Check the salon prices to see if they fit your budget. You can call the salons individually and ask for a quote.
From there, you can compare prices and see which one is best suited for your needs.
5. Check out their range of services.
Some salons offer more than just hair styling. Some offer manicures and pedicures, massage (whether therapeutic or prenatal), permanent makeup, tanning, waxing, hair transplant, makeup, and other services.
Make sure to check the range of services so you can see if you can consolidate and avail of more than one service.
Aside from the convenience, most salons offer packages and promos for their different services.
